Truman State University’s Psi Chi chapter was chartered on April 15, 1976. Over the years, our chapter has hosted dozens of research conferences, faculty and student gatherings, and guest speakers.
Anyone is welcome to come to our general meetings and psychology students are strongly encouraged to seek active membership in Psi Chi to further connect with the community of scholars at Truman State and elsewhere.
Research Conferences
While Psi Chi is not directly connected to Truman’s Student Research Conference (SRC), many Psi Chi members present at the SRC. Truman Psi Chi also encourages students to present at the Midwestern Psychological Association (MPA) meeting in Chicago.
Student and Faculty Gatherings
Our chapter strives to bridge the gap between psychology students and faculty. Our chapter hosts multiple events throughout the school year where all who are interested in psychology are welcome to come, relax, and enjoy food provided by the chapter.
Guest Speakers
Each year, our chapter invites a guest speaker to campus to discuss matters of relevance to psychology students at Truman. In the past we have welcomed individuals from schools such as Washington University in St. Louis to come talk about opportunities in psychology after Truman.
